Did you know that you can always email [email protected] for insight? We love questions at Pilates in Common. One question we frequently hear is: how many times per week should I practice?
Following the Joseph Pilates rulebook, the ideal frequency is three times a week. This might sound intensive, but it doesn't necessarily mean committing to three 50-minute sessions. Let's explore a few examples of what practicing Pilates three times a week could look like:
Monday: 12pm Mat Class – Live
Wednesday: 8am Mat Class – Recording
Friday: 15-20 minutes of Self-Practice focusing on a concept you loved from class
Bonus: Be mindful of your pelvic position while working at your deskMonday: 12pm Mat Class – Live
Tuesday: Half-Session In-Studio, arrive early for self-practice
Thursday: 12pm Mat Class – Recording
Bonus: Incorporate foam rolling into your TV time in the eveningMonday: 15-20 minutes of Self-Practice to start a day full of meetings
Wednesday: Monday’s 12pm Mat Class – Recording
Saturday: 15-20 minutes of Self-Practice before your weekend hike
Bonus: Use Pilates breathing techniques to help you drift off to sleep
A Pilates practice can be flexible, and adapt to your daily routine. Whether it's a complete class or a quick 15-20 minute session, every bit contributes to your Pilates progress.
To help build this habit, we challenge you to join both mat classes each week for the rest of the month. Consistent practice not only leads to faster improvements in strength, flexibility, and posture through consistent muscle engagement, but also strengthens the mind-body connection.

CLASS THEMES
Monday, December 15th @ 12pm with Destinie:
I L-O-V-E, love slow Pilates. Despite this preference, I recognize the importance of incorporating higher-tempo Pilates because moving at “at-pace” requires us to trust our bodies, work with our fears and use mental discipline. Today, we’re embracing the best of both worlds. I’ll begin class with some slower-paced Pilates to gently warm up our bodies and minds. Then, I’ll transition into faster-paced Pilates, where we can release control and fully trust in the dedication and effort we've invested.

BYOR: Bring Your Own Requests. Last week Destinie taught to the connection between the feets, knees, and hips based on three separate requests.
