It’s the second-half of March Matness, we have our second-wind, and we’re going to give it everything we got! Get in for a team huddle.
Coach Mollie wants to remind us all: when in doubt, leave it out and Pilates is a spectator sport. Yes, March Matness is all about sticking to the order which requires a bit more pace and perhaps means encountering exercises you’ve never done before–that’s part of the fun! An example of this is Jack Knife. Jack Knife is an inversion that looks exactly how it sounds. You may already know that inversions are not your jam. You may attempt Jack Knife during class and the little voice inside of your head throws up a red flag. TOTALLY COOL. Leave it out, grab some peanuts, and just watch. We learn by doing, but we also learn by observing.
We got this!

We often aren’t as familiar with the later part of the classical mat order as we are the first part of the series. In today’s class, we’re going to start with swan dive so that we can treat the second half of the intermediate order with as much care and consideration that is given to the first. Although the names of some of these exercises might seem new, all of the exercises listed below build on what you’re already familiar with. Everyone is welcome as even the most complicated exercises in the Pilates repertoire are all based on the same basics!

Oh, I am so excited to be joining y’all for this class! Answering your questions is my absolute favorite part of teaching! From the historical - ever wonder why we start with the hundreds; to the most basic - what exactly does it mean to scoop; to the dauntingly complex - have you ever tried crab (the exercise not the crustaceans!). Come prepared to play!
